After watching Naruto one would be inquisitive to know about his where about. Well Naruto hailed from Konohagakure, in short Konoha village which is one of the five great ninja villages. This village of Naruto was one of the most powerful villages in existence and is also known for its military power and influence.

Before Konoha was founded, amongst the ninja clans, the Uchiha clan and the Senju clan of the forest were the strongest at the time. After much bloodshed, the Senju clan wanted a state of peace and so discussed peace terms with the Uchiha. The protests of the leader of Uchiha, Madara Uchiha were in vain and were overruled by the clan and thus the Hidden Leaf Village (Konoha) came into existence. Konoha was one of five villages with a Kage as its leader, known as the Hokage.

This trend was followed by other countries too which led to birth of other villages. However Madara was restless. The moment the leader of the Senju clan, Hashirama Senju was chosen to be the leader of Konoha, Madara decided to challenge him but he was all alone in his battle. So he decided to leave the village and prepare himself in order to challenge Hashirama.

In the battlefield Madara was defeated and Hashirama younger brother became the Second Hokage. He formed the Konoha Police Force and kept an eye on the activities of Uchiha. Uchiha clan members could not tolerate this and revolted like Madara had. As Senju clan was more powerful and superior in the entire village, the Uchiha clan was discriminated and was left alone.

The Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked the village of Konohagakure, after the end of the Third Great Shinobi World War. They were unstoppable. Nobody in the village was able to block the fox. Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage came to the rescue by sealing the Nine-Tails into his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki.
